Provide your complete details and clearly specify the information you seek

Attach the prescribed application fee (₹10) via DD/IPO/Cash

Submit the Application

Submit to the Public Information Officer (PIO) in person or by post

Receive Acknowledgment

Get an acknowledgment receipt with a unique request number

Get Response

Receive information within 30 days (48 hours for life & liberty matters)

Important Timeline

Information should be provided within 30 days from the date of application. For matters concerning life and liberty, information should be provided within 48 hours.

Appeal Process

If you are not satisfied with the information provided by the PIO or do not receive a response within 30 days, you can file a first appeal to the Appellate Authority within 30 days from the expiry of the response period.

The Appellate Authority shall dispose of the appeal within 30 days of receipt or provide reasons for delay beyond 45 days.
